Performing magic, in the real world, takes imagination, planning, and a lot of hard work. I have been attempting to turn that vast uninteresting expanse of bare earth around my house into something that will tempt me to look out the windows, rather than the reverse.

This month my project has been planting trees and constructing a rose arbor and fountain grouping with a Neoclassical style. My arbor and fountain grouping brew is cooked up from 4 ten foot lengths of heavy duty 4" sewer pipe, sand and dirt, cement blocks, treated plywood, a 2X4, bendy board fencing, roses, 2 round plastic ponds, pond liner, and fountain and waterfall pumps.

Here is my plan.

Getting Started

Neighbors Come to Observe My Progress
Kittens belonging to our neighbor were attracted by all my activity and were delighted to find some rain water in the larger pool. They are sitting on the plant shelves built into the pool, but don't they look like a pair of cool cats hot tubbing.

Sewer pipe pillars are set in post holes and tamped. Large round pool is set over sand. Roses are planted in purchased rich soil. Just beginning to install the pond liner in the stream bed.

Completion coming in the future.
I still have the architrave to build and mount (still don't know just how I am going to get it up there.), orange extension cord to hide, need to purchase stepping stones to hold and cover the pondliner, more flowers to plant, and any tweeking necessary.
