When my husband had his stroke, his sense of the centerline for his body moved to the right causing balance problems. To fight this tendency, the physical therapist places him in front of a full length mirror and has him rock his weight from one leg to the other to help him develop a new sense of balance. We put up mirror tiles in our master bathroom so he could do this important exercise at home. Our two cats find the wall of mirror tiles very interesting. Their personalities show by how they treat the mirror. Pearl, the grey kitty with white feet, looked herself over closely once and then began to rub her paws over the smooth surface. Cameo, the white and black longhaired cat, wanders in to look at herself frequently. Cameo checking her appearance in the mirror.
They are also fascinated by my husband’s bath-bench. The cats love to sit on it. Cleopatra would envy the queenly elegance of the way those cats lounge upon that bath-bench. Cameo sitting on her throne, I mean the bath-bench.
